MEET GAMBLE
Gingerbread Music is the multifaceted music studio founded by Gamble, a musician, sound designer, and teacher from Atlanta. Gamble’s roots run deeply into the worlds of both musical theatre and classical music, so Gingerbread Music has a musically- and theoretically-sound foundation supporting its diverse and personalized services.
Gamble has a Bachelor of Music in Music Education from the University of Georgia and a Master of Music in Music Education from Boston University, which led to a wonderful 9 years as a music educator, wherein they primarily served as a high school choral director. They also directed a cappella groups and middle school ensembles and taught a variety of classes, including AP Music Theory, Songwriting, History of Popular Music, World Percussion, Audio Production, Rock Band, and Musical Theatre Production.
During this time, Gamble developed a teaching philosophy based on collaboration and student-directed learning, aiming to empower students through music. Not every student is going to be a musician for the rest of their life, but through music, every student can become a valuable, contributing member of society, standing up for their beliefs and inciting social change.
In their new life as a full-time freelance musician, Gamble upholds the same philosophy in all their musical endeavors, whether it’s with grown-up students, professional actors and musicians, or the youngest and boldest students: children.
There are a ton of things about which Gamble is passionate (tight harmonies, dissonance, sitzprobes, Beethoven, sashimi, and mint ice cream are just a few examples), and they approach these things with exuberance as well as a penchant for eagerly sharing in that joy. Gamble is most enthusiastic about making music with like-minded folks, devoting time and energy to the students who aren’t immediately successful, and working with transgender singers to find their voices.

OUR VALUES
LGBTQ+ ADVOCACY
We aim to amplify queer voices at every opportunity. From transgender singers navigating vocal changes to new theatrical works that tackle relevant issues, we are dedicated to helping ensure that LGBTQ+ stories are both told and heard.
The transformative power of the arts can also have the external effects of educating communities, promoting constructive dialogue, increasing acceptance, and saving lives. We strive to create an artistic space for queer individuals to feel comfortable exploring their identity, enhancing their self-confidence, expressing their art and empowering themselves and others through music.
Cultural Equity
We value artists from underrepresented communities and the organizations that fight for them.
Most existing systems of power grant privilege and access unequally. We want to ensure that everyone has equal access to a full, vibrant creative life, which is essential to a healthy society.
NEW WORKS
We seek purposeful partnerships with emerging theatre artists and and writers and composers of new works.
Because the arts have the power to change hearts and minds and to inspire the social changes we’re addressing, it is vital to enable the constant creation of new art.

"Gamble is an unforgettable teacher. They taught me how to share and create music in a safe, healing environment. I will be forever grateful."

The Gingerbread Boys
The name “Gingerbread Music” is inspired by Gamble’s three ginger tabby cats—Freddie, George and Bowie—collectively known as The Gingerbread Boys. Despite resolutely maintaining that they are a dog person, Gamble has embraced this branding, and yes, you can follow the cats on Instagram.
